Love Bon Echo Park? Want to support the organization that supports it? Join us for an evening of “blue sky thinking” at the Friends of Bon Echo Park’s strategic planning meeting, to be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at Emmanuel United Church in Northbrook (108 Addington Rd 2).

Now heading into our 30th anniversary year, the Friends of Bon Echo Park is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the natural and cultural heritage of Bon Echo Provincial Park. The Friends organization supports many of the events and programs within the Park and provides services to Park visitors, including the interpretive boat tours and the ferry service to the popular Cliff Top Trail that takes hikers to the top of majestic Mazinaw Rock. The Friends also hosts the popular annual Art Sale & Exhibition, which is looking forward to a special anniversary edition in 2018.

While attendance at Bon Echo Park is increasing year over year, the Friends organization is facing a dwindling membership and volunteer shortages. What can be done differently to better engage the local community? How can the organization better connect with Park visitors that come from elsewhere in the province and beyond? What sorts of events and programs should the Friends consider in our 30th year and into the future? Come out and make your opinion count at this facilitated brainstorming session!

Can’t join us in person for the event but have ideas to improve the Friends? Drop us a line and we’ll share your input at the meeting! Message us via our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/bonechofriends) or email bonechoes@gmail.com.
